Ceramic Coating BrisbaneGloss, Water Beads, and Real UV Defence

Keep the paint looking factory for the whole time you own the car, and cut your wash days in half.

The short version

That is why ceramic coating brisbane drivers book ProCloud, fitted at the Brendale workshop by the same in-house team as our vehicle wraps.

Ceramic is a chemical layer that bonds to the clear coat once the surface is decontaminated and paint-corrected.

Water sheets off instead of clinging, bird droppings and tree sap lift with a rinse instead of etching, and UV stops fading the paint at the rate it would on an untreated finish. This is not a wax that lasts a fortnight.

It is a coating that runs 2 to 7 years depending on package, and pays back in easier wash days and stronger resale.

What ceramic coating actually does

Judge a coating on three outcomes you can see and feel, not on marketing lines.

What ceramic does not do: it does not stop stone chips, it does not rock-proof the bonnet, and it does not make the car invincible.

Stone chip and impact protection is what paint protection film is for, and most buyers who care about both stack the two.

Hydrophobic behaviour. Water beads and rolls off, so the car stays cleaner between washes and a hose rinse does most of the work a full bucket wash used to.

Gloss depth. The coating fills the microscopic peaks and troughs in the clear coat so light reflects evenly. On a corrected, coated panel you see the difference from three metres.

UV, contaminant and chemical defence. The sacrificial layer takes the hit from Queensland sun, bug residue, bird droppings, tree sap and low-pH road grime, and the paint underneath does not.

The ProCloud process, step by step

Ceramic that lasts is 80 percent prep. A poor prep under a great coating gets you a bad result, and a great prep under a mid coating still gets you a good one.

1. Deep wash and decontamination. The vehicle is washed, iron-decontaminated, tar-decontaminated and clay-barred. The surface has to be clean before anything bonds to it.

2. Paint correction. Light or full correction depending on package and paint condition. Swirl marks, holograms and light scratches removed.

This is where the depth in the finish comes from. 3. Panel-by-panel coating. The ceramic is applied by hand, one panel at a time, wiped and levelled inside the manufacturer's flash window.

4. Cure and inspection. The vehicle cures in the workshop until the coating hardens off, then a final inspection under strong light before pickup.

Ceramic rewards a controlled shop. The Brendale workshop runs dust-controlled bays, so nothing gets trapped under the coating before it cures.

Ceramic vs wax, sealants and PPF

Wax is the cheapest and shortest-lived option. Great gloss, gone in six weeks of Brisbane heat.

Sealants last longer than wax and cost less than ceramic. A reasonable middle ground for a car you are not keeping long.

Ceramic is the durable long-life pick. It costs more up front and holds up 2 to 7 years, and on a car worth keeping in original condition the maths usually work.

PPF is a different category. PPF is a physical film that takes the hit from stone chips and scratches, while ceramic is a chemical layer for gloss, hydrophobic performance and UV defence.

If you want both, the ceramic and PPF package is the cheaper way in.

Why ProCloud, not a random detailer

Ceramic coating is a NEW service in the ProCloud shop as of 2026, and we are straight about that. What we bring is not a decade of ceramic-only detailing.

It is a Brendale workshop that has run film-based vehicle work for 30 years, the same install crew that handles wraps and PPF, and a dust-controlled bay built for panel work.

You drop the car with the team that quotes it, and you pick it up from the same team. No third-party detailer, no drop-and-collect at a shop you have never visited.

If you are already booking a vehicle wrap or PPF, the ceramic goes on the same job number and comes off the same invoice.

FAQs

Ceramic coating pricing in Brisbane sits roughly between $600 for a single-layer entry package on a smaller car and $2,500-plus for premium multi-year packages on a larger vehicle. The variables are vehicle size, paint condition (how much correction is needed) and coating grade. Use the cost calculator for a rough range, or send photos for a fixed quote.

Coating life depends on grade. Entry-level layers hold roughly 2 years. Mid-tier packages hold 3 to 5 years. Premium multi-layer systems can push 5 to 7 years. Real-world life also depends on storage, wash technique and driving environment. A fleet vehicle pressure-washed weekly ages faster than a garaged weekend car.

Yes. The coating does not eliminate washing, it changes what washing feels like. Grime rinses off more easily, water beads and rolls, and a two-bucket wash on a coated car takes noticeably less time than on an uncoated one.

Yes. Ceramic goes on top of a wrap fine, and it makes the wrap easier to keep clean. If you are booking a wrap and a coating together, we sequence them on the same job number so the coating goes on right after the wrap install is settled.

Ceramic does not stop stone chips or key scratches. That is what paint protection film is for. If stone-chip damage on the bonnet or bumper is a real concern, on a highway commuter, a touring vehicle or a work ute, stack PPF over the high-impact panels and ceramic over everything else. The packages page shows the common combinations.
